Ford Motor Company’s one-off vehicle, the Mustang AV-X10, produced exclusively using internal resources, will be auctioned off during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 2009 AirVenture Oshkosh, the world’s greatest aviation celebration.

 

 

Vehicle Specifications

Exterior

  • Utilizes the new 2010 Mustang GT Glass Roof model as the base car, with Ford Racing performance modifications.
  • Graphic theme is a tribute to WWII-era aviation paint schemes, with custom-mixed unique Satin Silver exterior paint, "Dearborn Doll" pin-up art on either side of fuselage, yellow "nose cone" and rear wing, and white tail stripe with "AV-X10" call letters.
  • Rear end design includes Shelby GT500 lower rear fascia and rear wing, and Air Force star decklid badge.
  • 19" forged SVT GT500 five spoke wheels in liquid silver with yellow propeller tips.
  • The cock-pit style glass roof canopy is adorned with an abstract translucent star and bars.

Interior

  • Custom one of a kind interior design includes "worn" bomber jacket style leather by Bader for seat trim, coupled with P51 cockpit-inspired diamond tucked seat and door inserts in military olive khaki material.
  • Genuine aluminum dash trim in a unique diamond knurled pattern with "Dearborn Doll" script.
  • Instrumentation includes Ford Racing Pyrometer, Boost, and Fuel Pressure gauges, unique "Ground Speed" and "Engine Speed" AV-X10 cluster graphics, and engine start button located in the middle of the cockpit.
  • Applique autograph area to capture the AV legends in attendance: potential examples: Jack Roush, Harrison Ford, Edsel B. Ford II, Carroll Shelby, etc. to increase the originality and marketability.
